Placing an order online
You can place an order through the website in 2 ways:
- Sign into the website using your email address
- Place an order as a guest
Where do I sign in?
Click on the account logo in the top right corner of the home page and you will get a pop-up menu.
If you have already created an account using your email address:
- Enter your email address
- Enter your password
- Click the black “Log In" button
If you have forgotten your password, click the white "I have forgotten my Password" box under the "Log in" button. We'll send you an email with a link to create a new password. Once you've created your new password, you'll be signed into your account page.
When you've filled your basket, checkout and your order will be linked to your account.
Create a new account
If you're signing up for the first time:
Click on the account logo in the top right corner of the home page and you will get a pop-up menu.
- Click the Register a new account link under the black Login box.
- Complete the registration form and create a password.
- You can also sign up to receive all our latest news and promotions here by ticking the box at the bottom
- You'll then be taken to your new account page and can start shopping
When you've filled your basket, checkout and your order will be linked to your new account.
Place an order as a guest
You can check out as a guest without registering an account or signing into your existing account. Once you've added items to your shopping bag, select Your Basket and then Checkout, following the on-screen instructions to the secure checkout/welcome page.
- Enter your email address (we need this to process your order confirmation.)
- If you don’t want to create an account just ignore the create password box and enter your billing address and delivery address details.
Checking out as a guest, you won't be able to track your order online and it won't be linked to any account you have registered with Scottish Fine Gifts.

What happens after I place an order?
If you have supplied us with your email address, we will send an order confirmation email with the order number and all the details of your order. Sometimes these can go to your junk/spam folder so it's worth checking there if you can't see it. It’s important that you enter the correct email address at this stage, or you won’t get an order confirmation.
We will let you know by email when your order has been sent out. If your order is being tracked, we will send out the tracking number in this email.
If you were logged into your Scottish Fine Gifts account when you made your order you can see what's happening with your order at any time by signing in and selecting My Account and then My Orders.
If you didn’t create an account with us or weren't signed in when you placed your order you can contact customer services on firstname.lastname@example.org to get an update.
Made to order items
If you've ordered a ‘made to order’ item, we will show an estimated time for make up on the product page. We'll send this information in your order confirmation email. If you've got other items in your order that aren't ‘made to order’, we'll send these straight away and you'll get the email confirmation of this and then another confirmation when we send out the ‘made to order’ products. Please allow for the additional time it takes for delivery time as well as the make-up time.
Up to the point of dispatch you can track the progress of your order at any time by logging into My Account from the Home page on this website. If you have selected a tracked delivery service, you can check the status of your delivery via the relevant couriers’ website. We will provide the tracking number in the order confirmation email.
Acknowledgement and Acceptance of your order
There may be certain orders that we are unable to accept and must cancel. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to refuse or cancel any orders for any reason. Some situations that may result in your order being cancelled include limitations on quantities available for purchase, inaccuracies or errors in product or pricing information, problems identified by credit and fraud agencies. We may also require additional verification or information before accepting any order. We will contact you if all or any portion of your order is cancelled or if additional information is required to accept your order. If you have supplied us with your email address, we will notify you via email when payment for your order has been authorised. We will also email you when your order has been dispatched.
We will treat each order for goods as an offer by you to purchase the goods subject to these terms and conditions.
Please note that verbal and/or electronic acknowledgements do not constitute order confirmation or order acceptance. Your order will be accepted and the creation of a legally binding contract between you and us will take place once the goods have been dispatched.
When deciding whether to accept your order we may use certain information about you, including any received from credit reference agency checks. This helps to protect you and us against fraudulent transactions.
We will tell you if your payment details cannot be authorised for any reason and may invite you to pay by another method
I ordered the wrong thing
You can correct errors on your order up to the point at which you confirm payment on the final page of our ordering process. If you want to cancel after you have placed the order, contact us on email@example.com. If the order hasn’t been dispatched, we will cancel and refund you. It can take a few days for your bank to process the credit to your account. If we have already dispatched your order you will need to send the item back to us and we will refund you. Please see the Return section for more details.
All orders are subject to availability. We will inform you as soon as possible if the goods you have ordered are not available. (by emailing or phoning you)
Delays to orders
On occasion goods are subject to availability and delay in delivery of goods is sometimes outside our control. As such, delivery cannot be guaranteed and any dates we specify for the delivery of the goods are approximate only. We shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges, or expenses caused by any delay for delivery of the goods. We will, of course, make every effort to keep you informed.
Restrictions on Purchases
Where the order contains items that are restricted by age such as alcohol or knives, by placing an order you confirm that you or the recipient of an age restricted gift is over the age of 18 or the legal age required in the selected delivery country.
There are some countries that impose restrictions on certain imports. You are responsible for ensuring the items you order can be imported to your delivery address. Scottish Fine Gifts accepts no responsibility for loss or damage when items are refused entry by regional customs.
All methods of payment, including credit cards are processed when you place your order. Payment is taken at the point of ordering goods, including Personalized or Made to Order goods.
You can pay using Paypal or by credit or debit card (we accept Maestro, Delta, Visa, Mastercard, Solo and American Express).
To protect your purchase, we have added 3-D secure to our checkout. You may be prompted at payment to enter the secure password agreed between you and your bank. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it using the links on the page. If you have any difficulty with this, either contact your bank directly.
Payment using Scottish Fine Gifts gift vouchers are also accepted online. For more info see ‘Using a gift voucher’ below.
Using a gift voucher
If you have a Scottish Fine Gifts gift voucher, you will be asked to enter your 2-part code on the pop-up box once you click to the checkout. The codes can be found on the gift voucher sent to you.
Once you click the black apply button, any outstanding balance to pay by credit card, debit card or PayPal will be displayed.
You can add multiple gift vouchers towards payment.
If you don’t use the full balance you can’t use the same codes again for further purchases. However, we will email you new codes for the remainder of the voucher.

Pricing | VAT | Import Duties
All prices shown include VAT (sales tax) at the current UK rate and exclude delivery charges. Where applicable (i.e. for customers with an invoice address outside the UK & Europe) VAT will be deducted at the checkout stage. Prices listed in alternative currencies are subject to fluctuations in currency and may change on a daily basis. Scottish Fine Gifts is not liable for any charges your credit card company or bank may make for overseas transactions. The purchaser will pay all ancillary costs over and above the price including delivery and local and regional customs duties and tariffs.
If you have a promotional code to use on your next purchase with us, when you are ready to checkout, click on the Basket Icon and click the black "Checkout" button
You will be asked to enter your promotional code on the pop-up box.
Enter your promotional code into the box and click the black "Apply" button
Once applied, the discount will be displayed straight away
If the promotional code is invalid, you will see an error message stating 'unable to apply promotion code'.
Why is my promotional code invalid?
You may have entered the code incorrectly. Please check that your code is correct and try again. Please note, in some cases letters may be mistaken for numbers: for example, the letter O and the number zero (0).
You may not have met the terms and conditions, or minimum spend requirements. Please contact the customer services team on email@example.com if you continue to have difficulty using your code.
